Zoroaster

Zoroaster is charming, humorous and handsome. A thief, hustler, grave robber and a jack of all underhanded trades—in short, someone who never stops looking for an angle in any situation that could benefit him. Although he serves as da Vinci’s connection to Florentine underworld, Zoroaster also grounds da Vinci and is often the voice of reason in the midst of da Vinci’s grand quests. Zoroaster has no interest in rising above his station.

He willingly aids da Vinci in his adventures with rarely a complaint, but occasionally with a request for compensation. Leonardo considers him a true friend. Zoroaster also takes on Nico as a pet project, despite his protests, believing Nico requires a complement to da Vinci’s more classical instruction. Zoroaster’s lessons are for Nico to achieve his baser desires, like a coin in his pocket and a woman in his bed.

While Zoroaster has no interest in the promotion or elevation of art, he certainly possesses other qualities that are representative of the Renaissance: an enjoyment of wine, women (as well as men), and merriment.
